Process Narrative
I went through a full loop: phone screen with a coding problem, then onsite with code craft, debug, system design, and behavioral rounds. The code craft and debug rounds are a newer format at DoorDash, and I found them less difficult than the traditional format. The system design round was the weak point due to communication misalignment, and ultimately rejection came from that round. I noted that some candidates still encounter the traditional coding format -- it appears to vary by team.
