Process Narrative
A phone screen (or possibly a single VO round) on HackerRank for a Senior SDE position. I was asked to explain my approach before coding. A miscommunication arose where the interviewer misunderstood my proposed traversal strategy; I corrected it and gave complexity analysis. During coding, I got stuck on a character conversion issue and eventually asked to Google the relevant language API, which was not allowed. I ran out of time and failed. Result received within one week.
